Evidence of APP/SMG Deforestation on Google Earth
Asia Pulp & Paper/Sinar Mas Group in the Bukit Tigapuluh landscape, Sumatra
A report published today details history and possible future of deforestation related to APP/SMG in the unique Bukit Tigapuluh ecosystem over the past years. The authors of the report, KKI Warsi, Frankfurt Zoological Society, Eyes on the Forest and WWF-Indonesia, have been working in Tigapuluh since the 1990s, promoting the conservation of biodiversity and supporting indigenous and local communities.
Supportive evidence for the findings of the report is provided in geo-referenced format on Google Earth. To view the evidence, please download the KMZ files listed below to your computer. If you have Google Earth installed on your computer, clicking the KMZ files will open Google Earth on and display the information. The KMZ files will be listed under “Temporary Places” on the sidebar. There, you can double-click KMZ file name to see a short description of each file’s contents. You can also click on or off each KMZ file and its information layers (e.g. photos, maps, boundaries). You can also view the photos by clicking on photo icons located on the big map. If you do not have it installed on your computer, consider downloading it from the Google Earth web site.

Geo-referenced, photographic evidence of massive destruction of good natural forests by APP/SMG affiliate PT. Tebo Multiagro Corporation in the Bukit Tigapuluh Landscape in Jambi Province, Sumatra since 2007.
Deforestaton Evidence 3 APP/SMG Logging Highway
Geo-referenced, photographic evidence of illegal deforestation by encroachers provided access by APP/SMG's logging highway cutting through the Bukit Tigapuluh Landscape in Riau and Jambi Provinces, Sumatra since 2007.
Potential loss of natural forest
Boundaries of concession in which APP/SMG affiliates are clearing high conservation value forest today and in which APP/SMG and Barito Pacific Group affiliates could be clearing high conservation value forest as soon as government issues permits.
