Reforestation Efforts in Sebangau National Park
Since 2005, canal blocking has functioned as hydrology of peat land rehabilitation. The activities started by water management guideline. The canal of ex forestry company Sanitra Sabangau Indah (SSI) had been a pilot project of canal blocking. This canal has 24 km length, 6-8 meters depth and 4 to 5 meters width which was built in 1998 as the forestry company route to accelerate the commercial log.

Canal blocking is a way to leverage the ground water level so the soil nearby of canal to be moist and prevent it from forest and land fire afterward. More
