Shrimp Aquaculture Dialogue (ShAD) conducted its first of two public consultation periods in Gran Melia Hotel for two days, starting from Tuesday (09/03) to Wednesday (10/03). The draft standards to minimize the negative impact shrimp aquaculture can have on the environment and social sector were socialized to gain inputs from a broad and diverse group of people which will be used to improve the final document.
WWF Panda Mobile displayed in Eco Product International Fair 2010

Jakarta (07/03)-WWF-Indonesia’s educational and campaign truck, “WWF Panda Mobile” enlivened the largest international environmental fair in Asia titled “Eco Product International Fair (EPIF) 2010” taking place in Jakarta Convention Center, Senayan, Jakarta from Thursday (04/03) to Sunday (07/03). In this big event, WWF Panda Mobile played its different role. Not only as mobile library, but also as mobile coffee shop.

Jakarta (12/02)-Enhancing environmental education as one of the goals of the Year of Tiger 2010 campaign, WWF-Indonesia organized Wonder Eyes Photo Exhibition for two days, starting on Friday (12/02) to Saturday (13/02) in Taman Menteng, Central Jakarta. This wildlife and nature photography initiated by well known Japanese photo journalistHikaru Nagatake displayed dozens of photos taken by Indonesian children.
The green birthday for hatchling

What does every girl want for her birthday? Clothes, dolls, new shoes, money raised to protect an endangered species? The latter was the gift of choice on Thursday 4 February. It was a special day for a special little girl in Jakarta and for the sea turtles of Indonesia. Tiara Rheyne, otherwise known as Tititutotukik (named after ‘tukik’ a sea turtle hatchling), turned 6 years old, in 4th February 2010, and decided on a rather unconventional birthday gift, a student of Indonesia Montessori School, Tebet, South Jakarta, Titi gave a presentation to her classmates about the plight of the sea turtle and the challenges they face for survival.

Jakarta (31/01)-Coinciding with Supporter Gathering event called “Do Better for Earth” on Sunday, 31 January 2010, WWF-Indonesia launched education mobile “WWF Panda Mobile” in The Plaza Semanggi, Jakarta. Tiger conservation became the first theme carried by the WWF Panda Mobile since The Year of Tiger campaign will globally launched within WWF network on 14 February.
Remembering The Conservationist from WWF Bukit Barisan Selatan Project

Lampung (20/01)-Afrizal Khaidir gave his whole heart to conservation. Afrizal, or Af as he was usually called, joined WWF as an assistant analyst for socio-economics in a WWF project in Sungai Penuh, Jambi Province. In 1997, Af became district coordinator and worked with 15 other facilitators who traveled in and out the targeted villages of World Bank-funded ICDP project in Curup and Bengkulu Utara Districts in Bengkulu Province.
