Nugie at Sumatra Forest-Indonesian Culture and Nature in Japan
Jakarta (04/06)- Nugie, musician-cum-activist who is WWF-Indonesia Honorary Supporter, gave his special performance at the event “Sumatra Forest-Indonesian Culture and Nature” in Agora Globe Hall, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies, Friday (04/06). Organized by Tokyo University of Foreign Studies Open Academy, the event is a collaboration between WWF Japan, WWF-Indonesia, and Wonder Eyes Project.
Time to pick up pieces
The international network TckTckTck together with its members Oxfam, WWF and Germanwatch send a visual signal to the government negotiators that it is time to get back to work and pick up the pieces after Copenhagen.
Sumatran Tiger (Panthera tigris sumatrae)
WWF Indonesia is working with the Indonesian government, industries threatening tiger habitat, other conservation organizations and local people to save the Sumatran tiger from extinction. The Indonesian government in 2004 declared an important area, Tesso Nilo, as a national park to ensure a secure future for the Sumatran tiger.
TBI Support Program Agreement Signing Ceremony
Five forest concessions located in Kalimantan signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with The Borneo Initiative (TBI) on Tuesday (12/01) as an important step to achieve Forest Stewardship Council (FSC)’s sustainable forest management certification.
"Green Office" Adoption in WWF-Indonesia Sahul Region Office
As pilot project, on August 2009, WWF-Indonesia Sahul Region Office became the first office in Indonesia adpting Green Office (GO) program. Initiated by WWF-Finland, GO program was created as Environmental Management System (EMS) specially designed for offices. WWF-Finland took 4 years developing this program. Meanwhile, WWF-Indonesia started developing this environmentally friendly program a year ago.
Photo Gallery: Camera Trap in Central Part of Sumatra
Camera traps deep in the Sumatran jungle have captured first-time images of a rare female tiger and her cubs, giving researchers unique insight into the elusive tiger’s behaviour. After a month in operation, specially designed video cameras installed by WWF-Indonesia’s researchers seeking to record tigers in the Sumatran jungle caught the mother tiger and her cubs on film as they stopped to sniff and check out the camera trap.
Wonder Eyes Photo Gallery; Tesso Nilo NP, Riau (29-30 October 2009)
Last location visited was Tesso Nilo NP, Pekanbaru, Riau. For two days, starting from Thursday (29/10) to Friday (30/10), students of Junior High School I Ukui, Lubuk Lembang and some students from Senior High Schools in Pekanbaru participated in Wonder Eyes with WWF-Indonesia and Honorray Supporters Nugie and Davina. In tesso Nilo the WWF group spent their night at elephant flying squad camp.

Bukit Barisan Selatan hosted Wonder Eyes Project started from Thursday (24/10) to Saturday (26/10). Two WWF-Indonesia Honorary Supporters, Nugie and Davina were involved in this international photography event. In BBS, Nugie, Davina, and WWF-Indonesia team stayed at Rhino Camp, West Lampung.
