Sebangau Newsletter 5th Edition (January-March 2010)

Sebangau Newsletter 5th Edition highlight the hydrological restoration effort in Sebangau National Park. WWF-Indonesia and Sebangau National Park Office has successfully built 72 dams within 10 canals in Bakung River area, Sebangau National Park. Since 2005 up until March 2010, there are 330 dams built by the community initiated by Sebangau National Park Office and WWF-Indonesia.

HoB Newsletter May 2010

HoB Newsletter May 2010 outlines WWF's new report on newly discovered species in the Heart of Borneo. The report details 123 new species, discovered since the February 2007 joint declaration by Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Malaysia to conserve 220,000 km2 of irreplacable tropical rainforest, designated the Heart of Borneo. It also highlights the latest news from the HoB tri-lateral meeting held in Brunei on 4 April 2010. At the meeting, delegates from Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia and Malaysia gathered to discuss the next steps in their efforts to realise their collective vision agreed in the 2007 HoB Declaration.

GFTN-Indonesia Kaleidoskop 2009

In 2009, GFTN-Indonesia has gained more members, both "Trade Participant" and "Forest Participant." The pencil slat producer from Palembang, SOuth Sumatra PT Indo Bagus Slat (IBS) signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with WF to join GFTN-Indonesia. IBS has previously atatined FSC CoC from LGA Inter Cert. New Trade participants of GFTN-Indonesia are the indoor wooden furniture producer PT Integra Indocabinet (Integra) and two companies under SIMA Furniture Group, PT Palunesia Makmur (PLM) and PT Sinarindo Megantara (Sinarindo).

GFTN-Indonesia Caleidoskop 2008

In 2009, GFTN-Indonesia will be entering its 6th year. WWF initiative for forest management, GFTN, has reached significant numbers in the world. Indonesia itself has donated 467,700 hectares of certified forest. Now, GFTN-Indonesia has 33 members and 24 trade participants, and 9 forest participnats. In the future, this program will continually support companies, forest participants (HPH) and other related parties in Indonesia which have great commitment in reponsible forest management and facilitate trade network by focusing on economy, socio-culture, and environmental approach.
